The main function of the Smart Vislift is to facilitate fish migration. The design is based on proven insights but has a more favorable flow path thanks to flow control and the round shape. The Vislift also generates relevant data on passing fish and water parameters.

The Vislift enables migration where a barrier between the low-water side and the high-water side blocks the swimming route.

The Vislift UP enables fish migration in two directions where a barrier between two water level areas blocks the swimming route.

These images can also be seen in the Vislift Control Centre, making fish migration insightful in addition to measurable.

Many fish species have already used the Vislift, from big fish like carp, catfish and pike to red-listed fish like the European eel and exotics like the Stone moroko, thereby creating an automatic red list and exotic species detection.
